Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Joseph Mancuso:

Fr. Joseph Mancuso was ordained a priest in 1970. He was assigned to parishes within the Diocese of Albany. In 2002, a female victim came forward reporting abuse against Mancuso. She said that the sexual abuse started in the late 1960s when she was 14-years-old and attending a parish in East Greensburg where Mancuso worked.

Mancuso admitted to “some misconduct” but no criminal charges were filed due to the statute of limitations expiring. When the investigation was first opened, Mancuso told his parish that he would be out for surgery; until three weeks later when it was announced that he would be removed from ministry due to the allegations made against him.

In 2015, Mancuso’s name was added publicly on the Diocese of Albany’s list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors.
