Father Joseph Kozlowski was ordained a priest of the Brooklyn Diocese in June 1949. He was assigned as an associate pastor at St. Hyacinth’s Church in Glen Head, New York, where he served most of his 66 years in the ministry. Father Kozlowski was chaplain for Glen Cove’s volunteer fire department for 16 years. He also served as chaplain for the Nassau County Police Department’s Pulaski Association.

According to media reports, in August 2019, Father Kozlowski was accused in a lawsuit filed under the NY Child Victims Act of sexually abusing a 7-year-old from 1991 to 1992 during school activities and altar boy services at St. Hyacinth in Glen Head and at All Saints Regional Catholic School in the Diocese of Rockville Centre.
