Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Joseph Lopez:

Fr. Joseph Lopez was ordained a Claretian priest in 1963, who served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, in 1992, a Claretian Provincial informed the Vicar for Clergy of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles of a woman’s allegation that Fr. Lopez sexually abused her between 1962 and 1966, while she was a student at San Gabriel Mission High School.

Fr. Lopez retired from the priesthood in 1970 and lived in San Jose for many years after. His current whereabouts are unknown. His name was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ 2004 List of Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor.
