Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Joseph Sheehan:

Fr. Joseph Sheehan worked in the Diocese of Monterey.  In 2019, Fr. Sheehan was included on the Diocese of Monterey’s 2019 List of priests who was named as being “credibly accused” of child sex abuse. Very little is known of Sheehan’s activities within the church as the Diocese of Monterey has not released any information about Sheehan’s assignment history.

The list does note that a report was received in 1992 against Fr. Joseph Sheehan in reference to sexual abuse that took place from 1971-1975. No further information about the age/gender of his alleged victims, the nature of the alleged sexual abuse, or Sheehan’s assignments at the time of the alleged abuse is known. Fr. Sheehan is deceased.
