Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Joseph Wichmanowski:

Father Joseph Wichmanowski was ordained a who served multiple parishes in the Diocese of Pittsburgh. According to media reports, in 2004, he was named in a child sexual abuse lawsuit filed by a woman. The suit alleges the priest repeatedly forced the girl to perform sexual acts on him beginning when she was 12 years old. He would give her church wine, and make her dress provocatively.

The victim said on one occasion, Wichmanowski invited her to New York, where he told her he would/wanted to impregnate her.

In an article dated September 17, 2007, it was reported that this victim, along with 31
other victims of abuse was part of a Diocesan settlement totaling $1.2 million.

Wichmanowski died in 1977 and is buried in Saint Adalbert’s Cemetery in Carrick, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

He was named publicly as accused in a priest profile in the 2018 Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report.
