Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Kevin O’Brien:

Fr. Kevin O’Brien was included on a list of priests in the Archdiocese of Miami who was named as being “credibly accused” of child sex abuse. Very little is known of O’Brien’s activities within the church as the Archdiocese of Miami has not released any information about O’Brien’s assignment history nor the year he was ordained.

It is only noted that there was a lawsuit filed in 2005, making it the fourth suit filed since 2002, claiming sexual misconduct by O’Brien. According to the suit filed in 2005, the abuse allegedly took place in 1978 and 1979 at Mary Help of Christians School in Tampa, Florida starting when the boy was 12 years old. O’Brien was the principal there and as a way to “discipline him” O’Brien allegedly ordered the boy to undress and proceeded to sexually abuse him.

O’Brien died in 1981.
