Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Louis Mako:

Father Louis Mako was ordained a priest in 1962 in Europe. He served only two years in the Diocese of Scranton from 1975-1977. According to media reports, Father Mako was not identified or discussed in the 2018 PA Grand Jury Report, but his name did appear on the August 2018 list of clergy credibly accused of child sexual abuse by the Diocese of Scranton.

Unfortunately, no information was provided as to the gender/age of the victim(s) nor the date(s) the abuse is alleged to have occurred. However, it does mean that the allegation(s) was found to be credible by the Diocese of Scranton’s internal Review Board. The case sent to the Vatican in 2019. It’s unclear how long it will take for the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith to decide if the priest violated canon law and will be punished.

Father Mako’s name was also included on Diocese of Buffalo list of clergy credibly accused of child sexual abuse. released in November 2018.

Father Mako died in 1998.
