Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Fr. Louis Perreault:

Fr. Louis Perreault was ordained a priest in 1962, who served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of Lake Charles. According to media reports, he was accused of repeatedly sexually abusing a minor from 1990 to 1992, while serving at Our Lady of the Valley in Hemet, CA. The boy was between the ages of 13 and 15 at the time of the abuse. The diocese was made aware of allegations in 2011, and reported it to law enforcement. In 2019, a civil lawsuit was filed against the Diocese of San Bernardino.

Perreault was permanently banned from ministry in the diocese and retired without faculties. Perreault was included in the Diocese of San Bernardino’s 2018 list of clergy credibly accused of child sexual abuse. He was also included on the Diocese of Lake Charles list. Perreault’s whereabouts and whether he has access to children from 2018 until his death in 2020 are unknown
