Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Michael Juran:

Father Michael Juran was ordained in 1976. He was a popular former priest who once worked as a stunt car performer in an automotive thrill show. He was known as the “Flying Padre.” According to media reports, in October 2018, he was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation after allegations of two cases of sexual misconduct with children were reported. No information regarding the allegations was disclosed. Father Juran was living in the St. Petersberg area in Florida at the time he was removed. In May 2019, the Diocese of Buffalo announced that the allegations against him were determined to be substantiated. The case is to be reviewed by the Vatican in Rome.

In April 2020, Father Juran was one of 23 priests removed off of the Diocese of Buffalo’s payroll through an agreement it reached with survivors in U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
