Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Morgan Kuhl:

In October 1999, Fr. Morgan Kuhl was arrested in New Jersey during a sting operation. He traveled to Perth Amboy after arranging over the internet to have sex there with a 15-year-old boy. The “boy” was actually an undercover FBI agent. According to media reports, the FBI arrested Kuhl on a charge of interstate travel to have sex with a minor. The FBI agents found four packages of condoms in Kuhl’s car and a printout of the e-mail confirming plans to meet in the baseball field bleachers at Washington Park. Kuhl admitted to his intentions.

Kuhl reportedly had attempted previously to meet up with another New Jersey boy as well. He was sentenced in October 2000 to four months in a halfway house and four months under house arrest. The sentence was reduced to five years’ probation, and Kuhl was ordered to undergo treatment at Trinity Retreat in Larchmont, New York.

In 2002, Kuhl was arrested again on charges that he fondled a 16-year-old boy in 1999. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 45 days in jail. The judge gave him a one-year conditional discharge. Kuhl has used the alias Morgan J. Kihl and was last known to have been living in New York.

Kuhl is publicly named on the Archdiocese of New York’s 2019 List of Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor or the Subject of Eligible IRCP Compensation Claims.

As of 2017, Kuhl was believed to be living in Holmes, New York. Whether Kuhl has access to children is unknown.
