Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Norman Balthazar:

Fr. Norman G. Balthazar had multiple allegations against him, claiming he sexually abused minors. In 1991, Balthazar was charged with soliciting a lewd act from a male undercover police officer in Tampa, FL. The Diocese of St. Petersburg also settled another claim against Balthazar for $75,000 that same year to a man claiming the priest sexually abused him at Christ the King in Tampa in the early 1980s when he was 17. According to media reports, records show that there were additional abuse accusations that surfaced in 2002, claiming Fr. Balthazar sexually assaulted a 9-year-old boy in 1971.
