Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Paul V Sullivan:

Fr. Paul V Sullivan became a Jesuit priest after he graduated high school in 1938. He entered the Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance (Trappists) as “Father Ignatius” in Rhode Island in 1946. Two years later, he made solemn vows as a Cistercian Monk in 1948 and was ordained in 1950. He became a priest of the Archdiocese of New York in 1973. He served at St. Joseph’s Church in Yonkers, New York for more than twenty years.

In April 2019, his name appeared on the Archdiocese of New York’s list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. Claims against him are eligible to be settled through the Independent Reconciliation and Compensation Program (IRCP). Sullivan reportedly moved to Shrewsbury, Massachusetts after retiring in 1995.

Sullivan died in 2005.
