Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegation Against Father Peter Uniowski:

In 2003, Fr. Peter Uniowski was accused of inappropriate conduct with a 12-year-old girl. According to the report filed, the girl initially complained about Uniowski to a teacher, who notified the girl’s mother. The alleged abuse happened at the girl’s home when only she and her younger sister were there. Peter Uniowski, who was Pastor of St. John Neumman Catholic Church, admitted to visiting the family frequently, even when the girl’s parents were not home. No criminal charges were filed because prosecutors could not corroborate the girl’s allegations, but Uniowski was removed from his assignment by Bishop Dorsey.  In November 2020, Father Uniowski was placed on the Diocese of Orlando’s list of church personnel removed based upon a credible allegation of sexual sexual abuse of a child or vulnerable adult in the Diocese of Orlando.  Uniowski died on August 10, 2021 at the age of 70.
