Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Polienato Bernabe:

Fr. Polienato Bernabe was a visiting priest from the Philippines who worked in the Diocese of St. Petersburg from 1975 to 1989. In 2005, he was accused of repeatedly raping an 8-year-old girl with a cast on her leg from 1978-1986 while serving at Holy Name Catholic Church in Gulfport, FL.

He was charged with one count of capital sexual battery but fled the country and went back to the Philippines after the allegations surfaced. There was a warrant out for his arrest, but he was never found. Bernabe died in 2004.
