Fr. Raymond Clifton Etienne was accused in a civil lawsuit of child sexual abuse at the Divine Word Seminary in Riverside, CA, prior to ordination. Etienne was known for organizing choirs and serving as the director of a summer youth camp at Divine Word in Riverside, California for many years. Information about the age/gender of his alleged victim/victims, the nature of the alleged sexual abuse is unknown.

In 2010, Etienne’s personnel file was released. He was included in the Diocese of San Diego’s 2018 list of priests credibly accused of sexual abuse of a minor. Etienne died in 1998.
