Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Richard Hartman:

Father Richard Hartman was ordained a priest who served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of Orange. According to media reports, he was accused of sexually abusing at least one child in approximately 1958 to 1959 while working at Mission San Juan in San Juan Capistrano, California. He died in January 1965. Father Hartman was named in at least one lawsuit. He was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors. His personnel file was released in January 2013.
