Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Robert J. Saccacio:

According to media reports, in 2002, Father Robert J. Saccacio was removed from ministry after a claim of child sexual abuse made against him in 1961, (his ordination year), was discovered. In May 2002, he “retired.” In April 2003, he was named in a lawsuit by another survivor accusing him of child sexual abuse for more than three years when he was an 11-year-old altar boy in the church sacristy at St. John of God in Central Islip, New York in the 1970s.

In August 2019, Father Saccacio was accused in a lawsuit filed under the NY Child Victims Act, of sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy from 1973 to 1975. The boy attended St. John of God in Central Islip.

He is believed to be living in Laredo, Texas but his current whereabouts, status as a priest, and whether he has access to children are unknown.
