Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Robert Marsicek:

Father Robert Marsicek was ordained a Salvatorian priest. According to media reports, in March 2013, he was removed from St. Pius X in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin after a teacher reported possible child sexual abuse. He was ordered to stay away from children and was under the supervision of his Order pending a police investigation.

At the time, Marsicek maintained he was just being affectionate and that any inappropriate touching was inadvertent.

When the 2013 allegations were reported, both the Milwaukee archdiocese and Salvatorians had known since May 2012 that Father Marsicek was under investigation in Sacramento, California, on allegations of sexual abuse of a minor in the 1980s to 1990s. They allowed him to remain in ministry for 10 months while those claims were investigated. No charges resulted from the Sacramento investigation.

Another survivor came forward to allege child sexual abuse which occurred in the early 1970’s at St. Nazianz, Wisconsin.

In February 2017, Father Marsicek was charged on three counts relating to child sexual abuse for the alleged acts he committed against a young girl, starting when she was age 6, between 2007 and 2011 at St. Pius X in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

The girl told a Milwaukee County Circuit Court judge how she cried herself to sleep or didn’t sleep at all. She developed anxiety. She thought of hurting herself, even ending her life. Father Marsicek pleaded guilty and was sentenced to one year in prison in December 2017.

His name was included on the Diocese of Phoenix’s “Names of priests of religious communities who have served in the Diocese of Phoenix and have been laicized and/or removed from ministry by their communities due to sexual misconduct with a minor,” published in February 2018.

In April 2019, his name appeared on the Diocese of Sacramento’s list of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors. It noted two reports in 2012, of the abuse of boys under the age of 14, and in 2019 of the abuse of a girl under age the age of 14, from 1988-1995.
