Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Roland St. Pierre:

Father Roland St. Pierre was ordained to the priesthood in the Diocese of Ogdensburg in 1952. Named pastor of St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh in 1966, he is credited with coordinating volunteer parishioners in restorations at the church and the establishment of a capital fund to meet future needs. He also served as the mayor of Plattsburgh from 1972-1977. He was the first Catholic priest elected mayor of a U.S. city. Fr. St. Pierre died in 2010 at the age of 83.

According to media reports, in April 2021, he was named in a lawsuit filed in the state Supreme Court in St. Lawrence County, NY, against the Diocese of Ogdensburg and St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh, NY. The suit alleged that Fr. St. Pierre, along with Fr. Joseph Conti, sexually abused a four-year-old boy beginning in 1968 and continued into the early 1970s.
