Father Ronald Farchette was ordained to the priesthood in the Diocese of Ogdensburg in 1969. He served in multiple parishes throughout his career. According to media reports, in November 2018, his name was included on the Diocese of Ogdensburg list of 28 priests who were credibly accused of sexual misconduct with a minor or a vulnerable adult.
The Diocese of Ogdensburg did not include the number of alleged victims or the time frame that the alleged abuse occurred. It did state that Father Farchette has been removed from ministry, but is still living. Each name on the list has been internally investigated and the allegations were found to be credible by the Diocesan Review Board. Diocesan officials had previously said they would not release the names, largely to protect the privacy of victims.
