Father Salvatore F. Bucca

      Archdiocese of Washington

Ordained: 1976

Removed: 1978

Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Salvatore Bucca:

In October 2018, Father Salvatore Bucca’s name first appeared publicly on the Archdiocese of Washington’s list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors, dating back to 1948.

The only thing that the Archdiocese said of the allegation(s) against Bucca is that they were first reported in 1978, and noted to have been “possibly sexual.” He was removed from the ministry that same year, about 2 years after he was ordained.

Bucca has never been laicized and therefore remains, technically, a priest.

Bucca is believed to be residing in the Silver Spring, Maryland, area.  He is believed to be approximately 69 years old.
