Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Fr. Santino Casimano:

Fr. Santino Casimano was ordained to the priesthood in the Diocese of Gallup in 1975. He moved to the Diocese of Orange in 1976, on loan from Gallup and also served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of Norwich. According to media reports, in 2004, after being accused of sexual abuse occurring 26 years earlier, Father Casimano resigned from St. Bernard High School. In 2004, he was listed as Father Casamino, on the Diocese of Orange’s list of priests accused of sexual abuse and removed from ministry.

Father Casimano denied charges in a 2004 lawsuit that he sexually abused two brothers in a parish in the Diocese of Orange in the late 1970s. The Diocese of Orange paid the brothers $4.2 million in a 2005 settlement.

Father Casimano died in August 2005. In 2004, the Diocese of Orange named Casimano as a priest “accused and removed from ministry.” In December 2018, his name appeared on the Diocese of Gallup’s list of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors, as well as on the Diocese of Norwich’s list in February 2019.
