Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Scott McCarthy:

In 2019, Fr. Scott McCarthy was included on a list of priests in the Diocese of Monterey who was named as being “credibly accused” of child sex abuse. Very little is known of McCarthy’s activities within the church as the Diocese of Monterey has not released any information about McCarthy’s assignment history. In addition, information about the age/gender of his alleged victims, the nature of the alleged sexual abuse, or McCarthy’s assignments at the time of the alleged abuse is unknown.

It is only noted that there was a report received in 2002 in reference to an incident that took place in 1976. Initially, the allegation deemed non-credible, then it was changed to credible, and faculties removed in 2019.
