Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Thomas Denny:

Ordained a Jesuit priest, Fr. Thomas Denny was permanently removed from ministry in 2002 after being accused that year and again in 2012 of sexual abuse of minors.

In 2019, Denny was named one of seven former McQuaid Jesuit High School teachers credibly accused of sexually abusing minors during their careers. Information about the age/gender of his alleged victim/victims or the nature of the alleged sexual abuse is unknown.

According to media reports, the allegations against Denny were found to be credible, however, the Jesuits only mentioned that the abuse took place in the 1960s and 1970s. Denny served at McQuaid from 1978-1979.

In January 2019, his name was included on the Jesuit’s Northeast Province’s list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. According to the Jesuits, Denny is restricted from ministry and is believed to be living at a Jesuit residence in Manhattan, New York.
