Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father William Connor:

Father William Connor was ordained to the priesthood in the Diocese of Buffalo in 1950. He attended DePaul University in Chicago and received a masters degree in English in 1966. For some time thereafter, he served as principal and dean of studies. In 1972, he was stationed in Watertown, N.Y. His ministry included teaching at Immaculate Heart High School for five years and parochial vicar for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart for two years. From 1974-1984, he was the bishops liaison for Charismatic Renewal. In 1983, he was a full-time chaplain at the Watertown Correctional Facility until he was forced to retire due to an illness in 2003. He came to Sacred Heart Villa in September 2004, where he died in October 2004.

According to media reports, in 2020, he was accused in a lawsuit filed under the NY Child Victims Act of repeatedly sexually abusing a child. The details of the sexual abuse allegations, including when and where the alleged abuse occurred, or the victim’s age/gender, are unknown.
