Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father William Dinga, Jr.:

In June 2020, allegations of child sexual abuse have been made against Fr. William Dinga, Jr. while serving at Christ the King Catholic Church, Norfolk, VA, in 1986. There has been no information released regarding the victim’s age or gender. Fr. Dinga adamantly denied the allegations, yet prior to this recent allegation, Fr. Dinga did not have permission to exercise any public priestly ministry. He retired in 1990 with his ministry suspended.

Six months later, the individual who previously came forward and accused Fr. Dinga of child sexual abuse has recanted all allegations. Father Dinga has been exonerated of the charges and the diocese has restored him to his previous status he held with the diocese prior to the now recanted allegations.
