Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Fr. William Tanguay:

Fr. William Tanguay was ordained a priest in 1969, and served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of Charlotte. According to media reports, in June 2019, the Diocese of Providence publicly named him on its list of clergy credibly accused of child sexual abuse, for allegations during his ministry in Rhode Island from 1965 to 1981. Tanguay served in Hmong ministry for seven years in the Diocese of Charlotte, with no documented allegations of abuse. He was removed from ministry in Charlotte in June 2002 by the Providence diocese. It is believed he is living outside the U.S.
