Summary of Abuse Allegations against Monsignor Frederick Leising:

According to media reports, in June 2018, the Diocese of Buffalo received an allegation that Monsignor Frederick Leising had sexually abused a 19-year old girl in the 1980s. He was suspended from ministry six months later in November. His accuser also said she was abused by Father Fabian Maryanski.

When they were at a party in the rectory, she claimed that Monsignor Leising hugged her goodbye, then forcibly kissed her shoving his tongue down her throat. He denied the allegation, and said it was the girl who put her tongue in his mouth. After an internal review, the Diocese of Buffalo determined that the allegations had not been substantiated. Although retired, Monsignor Leising was cleared to return to ministry one month later in December.
