Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Andrew J. Suran:

According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, a woman filed a lawsuit against the Diocese of Pittsburgh, saying that Father Andrew Suran fondled her when she was 6 years old at St. Michael’s Church in Braddock, Pennsylvania. The abuse lasted for about a year until she said she developed a vaginal infection from the abuse.

Another woman, now 59, accused Suran of fondling her when she was 8 years old. Fourteen years later, the woman took a teaching job at St. Ann School in Homestead, where Suran had been transferred, and she said he again fondled and kissed her. She quit the job after only a few months because of the abuse.

Suran died in 1971 and is buried in Saint Clement Cemetery in Tarentum, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
