Summary of Allegations Against Father Bernard B. Costello:

According to 2018 media reports, the Diocese of Pittsburgh received allegations against Father Bernard B. Costello claiming that he sexually abused a minor in the 1960s.  No further information about the allegation was provided by the Diocese of Pittsburgh, except for a statement that this is the first allegation the Diocese received against Costello.

As a result of the allegation, he was one of three priests placed on administrative leave on August 31, 2018.  He is not allowed to present himself as a priest while on leave.

Bernard Costello is still living and is believed to be residing in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area.  He is 81 years old.
