Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father James Stewart:

Father James Stewart was ordained to the priesthood in 1924, and served in the Diocese of Pittsburgh. According to media reports, in August 2018, his name was included on the Diocese list of clergy who were already deceased when an allegation of child sexual abuse was made against them.  Details of the allegation, including the number of alleged victims or when and where the alleged misconduct occurred, are unknown. The allegation was filed after Father Stewart’s death in 1952. This was decades before the Diocese of Pittsburgh began reporting post-mortem allegations in 2002.
