Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Robert Mellott:

Father Robert Mellott was ordained to the priesthood in 1963.  He served in numerous roles including Parochial Vicar, Parish Administrator, Pastor, and Hospital Chaplain. According to media reports, he was identified on the Diocese of Pittsburgh‘s list of “Clergy Against Whom Allegations Have Been Made. Those who were deceased when an allegation was made against them.” This list includes deceased clergy who had a credible and substantiated allegation of child sexual abuse made against them while they were alive.

Very little is known of the allegations against Melllot since there is no indication that the allegation was ever reported to the District Attorney’s office. There is no Grand Jury report or Bates # associated with his name either.

At the end of his life, Father Mellott resided at Little Sisters of the Poor, and retired from the Diocese of Pittsburgh in April 2007. He died in 2008, and is buried at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Aliquippa, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
