Summary of Abuse Allegations against Sister Alexis-du-Sacre-Coeur:

Sister Alexis-du-Sacre-Coeurserved was a member of the Sisters of the Presentation of the BVM, and served in the Diocese of Portland. According to media reports, in 2005, a Maine resident accused her of repeatedly sexually abusing him when he was a second or third grade student at St. Andre School in Biddeford. The alleged abuse began in or about 1948 or 1949 when the victim was eight or nine years old.

According to alleged victim, Sr. Alexis routinely punished him by having him sit under her desk. She would then drape her dress over his head and instruct him to touch her genitals. The victim told his parents about the abuse, and his parents notified the school. The school administrators asked the family not to disclose the abuse. The victim alleges that several other students were punished by being forced under Sr. Alexis’s desk and that one family moved because of the abuse.

The current whereabouts of Sr. Alexis-du-Sacre-Coeur are unknown.
