Sr. Barbara Wood of the Sisters of Mercy Order was named in a civil lawsuit filed against the Diocese of Albany in June 2020 along with other clerics accused of sex abuse. Wood was accused of sexually abusing a minor from 1974 to 1978 while serving at St. Patrick in Watervliet, New York. No further information on the allegation regarding the victim’s age/gender was given nor the nature of the alleged sexual abuse was given.
