Summary of Allegations Against Father Alvin Adams:

In March 2009, at the age of 68, Father Alvin J. Adams was placed on administrative leave from the Diocese of Pittsburgh after allegations of abuse during his assignment at St. Canice in Knoxville, Pennsylvania between the years of 1967 and 1972.

Father Adams was working at Bishop Canevin High School when he was put on administrative leave. Before this, he has worked as assistant principal at Mon Valley Catholic High School.

According to media reports,  he is accused of sexually abusing a minor at St. Canice during the late 1960s. By February of 2010, three known accusers had come forward, only one of which was deemed credible by the Diocese of Pittsburgh. The one credible accuser was a woman who stated that Father Adams fondled her in the 1970s at Mon Valley High School.

After the 2010 accusation, Father Alvin J. Adams was restricted to serving at a convent. This assignment was revoked when parents at a nearby school complained.

Adams is still living and is believed to be residing in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, area. He is 78 years old.  He has not been laicized (removed from the priesthood by the Vatican), so he is technically still a priest of the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
