Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Bishop Anthony G. Bosco:
According to the Pittsburgh Gazette, The Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh reported a sexual misconduct allegation against a former Pittsburgh and Greensburg bishop to the Allegheny County district attorney’s office in 2019. The allegation was made against the late Bishop Anthony G. Bosco, and was reported in September of 2018. The incident itself dates back to the 1960’s, when Bosco was a priest with the title of monsignor.
The complaint alleges that Bishop Bosco inappropriately touched a nursing student while he was a Chaplain and instructor at the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. The diocese said that this was the first and only allegation made against Bishop Bosco.
Bishop Anthony Bosco has been included on the Diocese of Pittsburgh’s 2019 list of clergy against whom allegations have been made. He falls under the category of clergy who were deceased when an allegation was first made against them. Bosco died in 2013 at age 85.
