Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Christopher Kearney:

Father Christopher Kearney was a priest of the Capuchin religious order, who served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, he was removed from St. Francis High School, in La Canada Flintridge in 1995 after allegations that he sexually abused male students under the guise of wrestling. In 2002, the Diocese of Orange received another allegation that he had engaged in sexual misconduct while wrestling with high school boys in 1979 and 1980. 

In 2002, Father Kearney was removed as head of San Lorenzo Seminary in Santa Ynez following accusations of sexually abusing boys from 1971 to 1984. He has been accused of sexually abusing at least eleven children and has been named in at least two civil lawsuits.

In 2004, Father Kearney was included, as a religious order priest, in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests publicly accused of child sexual abuse. As of 2010, it is believed he was living in San Francisco. 

In December 2019, he was accused in a lawsuit filed under the NY Child Victims Act, of sexually abusing a 15-year-old from 1984 to 1986. The boy was a student at St. Francis High School and an altar server. According to attorneys, he is to be named in five more suits to be filed. His current whereabouts are unknown.
