Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father David P. Simon:
Father David P. Simon has admitted to sexually abused several teenage boys from 1973 to 1982.
The incidents of abuse were reported to the Diocese of Rochester at the time they happened, so the Diocese was aware of Simon’s history when his victims came forward publicly in 2002 to protest the fact that Simon was still in ministry after all the time that had passed.
Simon was placed on leave without privileges in 2002 after allegations resurfaced in the media. According to the Diocese of Rochester, Simon lives a life of prayer and penance. He remains, technically, a priest without faculties.
