Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Harold T Cox:

According to media reports, in October 2003, Fr. Harold T Cox was one of 24 priests named in a lawsuit alleging child sexual abuse. One man claimed that Cox repeatedly sexually abused him between the ages of 11-14 from 1956 until 1959, while he was assigned at St. Gabriel’s in Brooklyn, New York. The incidents occurred after confession when the priest instructed the boy to meet him. The suit alleged that the incidents occurred 30 to 50 times.

In February 2019, Cox’s name appeared publicly on the Diocese of Brooklyn’s list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors.

In September 2019, he was accused in a lawsuit filed under the NY Child Victims Act, of sexually abusing a boy.

Cox died in August 1971.
