Summary of Abuse Allegations against Brother Leo (Wenceslaus) Gillis:

Br. Leo (Wenceslaus) Gillis was a member of the Brothers of St. Francis Xavier and joined the Congregation in 1953. He retired in 2002 and moved Malden, Massachusetts to the Xaverian House in Danvers, Maryland in 2013. According to media reports, in 2004, he was accused of child sexual abuse in the Diocese of Brooklyn in 1960. As a result, he was placed on a safety plan and monitored.

In July 2019, Gillis’ name appeared publicly on the Xaverian Brothers’ list of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors.

His status as a brother, whereabouts, and whether he had access to children from 2002 until his death is unknown.

Gillis died in 2014.
