Father Luis Villoria was ordained a Claretian priest, who served in the Diocese of Norwich. According to media reports, in 2013, his name was quietly added, along with 23 others, to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ Final Addendum of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors posted on its website.

It lists 49 “names of clergy from a follow up review of Archdiocesan files, and names of clergy involved in Clergy I litigation which were not previously posted.” The Los Angeles Times reports that the 24 names were disclosed in a report posted on the archdiocese’s website in January 2013 along with 12,000 pages of internal records detailing how the church dealt with abuse claims.

In 2019, the Paulist Fathers reported that in 2013 the Archdiocese of Los Angeles received an allegation of sexual abuse by Father Vorisek that occurred in 1970. He died in 2011. His name appeared on the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s 2019 updated list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. It also appeared on the Paulists’ list that same year.

It noted incidents of child sexual abuse in the 1970s or 1980s were reported. In December 2018, his name was also added to  the Jesuits West Province list. It noted child sexual abuse incidents in 1978 and the 1980s, reported in 2007 and 2015. 

Father Shepherd died in 1991.

He became a deacon in 1980, and was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles by Bishop John Cummings at St. Elizabeth’s in Oakland in 1981. Summary of Abuse Allegations against Bishop Alexander Salazar:

Alexander Salazar (aka Father Alex) was elevated to Bishop in 2004. He also served as Vicar for the Office of Ethnic Ministries of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, he was investigated by law enforcement in 2002 for an allegation of sexual misconduct with a minor in the 1990s, when he was a parish priest. The District Attorney did not prosecute citing lack of evidence. Auxiliary Bishop Salazar denied any wrongdoing. 

The archdiocese said it only became aware of the allegation in 2005. Following a Vatican investigation, precautionary measures were reportedly imposed on Auxiliary Bishop Salazar ministry. 

The alleged ‘misconduct with a minor’ was first made public December 2018, after the Vatican announced Pope Francis had accepted Auxiliary Bishop Salazar’s resignation. after an Archdiocesan oversight board reviewed the case and deemed the allegation credible. The Archdiocese never included his name in any of it’s lists of publicly and credibly accused priests. His current whereabouts are unknown.

Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Michael Sintef:

Father Michael Sintef was ordained a priest in 1981 who served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, he was ‘involved’ sexually with a 17-year old girl when he was age 30. In a 2018 interview, he acknowledged that when she was 15 she “caught his eye.” The girl told her therapist, who called the police. The investigator’s report  stated that the “Minor has disclosed to counselor that she has been having sexual activity with her parish priest, Father Mike … heavy petting and kissing. They watch television together when her parents have gone to bed.”

No criminal charges were brought, but the police informed the Archdiocese of Los Angeles which gave Father Sintef a warning. The ‘relationship’ continued for several more years. He was sent for treatment in Maryland, and then left the priesthood. 

In January 2013, Father Sintef’s name appeared on the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. As of 2018, he was practicing hypnotherapy and living in West Marin, California with his wife and daughter.
