Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Michael Toth:
Father Michael Toth was ordained to the priesthood in the Diocese of Ogdensburg in 1974. According to media reports, in November 2018, his name was included on the Diocese of Ogdensburg’s list of 28 priests who were credibly accused of sexual misconduct with a minor or a vulnerable adult. The number of alleged victims or the time frame that the alleged abuse occurred was not disclosed. It noted that Father Toth was removed from public ministry, and is still living.
Diocesan officials had previously said they would not release the names, largely to protect the privacy of victims. Each name on the list has been internally investigated and the Diocesan Review Board found that the allegations were credible.
