Br. Modesto Leon was a member of the Claretian Order. In 2008, Br. Leon was named in a civil lawsuit, which alleged that he sexually abused a 15-year-old boy from approximately 1996 to 1999 while on Soledad Enrichment Action retreats at Camp Unity in the Angeles National Forest. Br. Leon worked as the Incorporating Executive Director for Soledad Enrichment Action until 2005 when he resigned.
Br. Leon was listed on the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor. As of 2013, it was reported that Br. Leon was living in Los Angeles. His status as a priest is unknown.
