Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Nicholas Reina:

Fr. Nicholas Reina was ordained a Salesian priest in 1978 who served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, he was removed from ministry in 2018 and named publicly as accused on the Los Angeles Archdiocese’s list of Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor. The report notes that the Salesians had received an allegation in 2000 that Reina molested a child in 1975, prior to ordination.

In 2012, an adult told the order Reina made an “improper advance” toward him in 2000. The order reportedly said it did not act on the allegation, “because the incident did not involve a minor.” One year later, in 2013, Reina was awarded Salesian High School in Richmond’s Educator of the Year.
