Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Patrick Purcell:

Fr. Patrick Purcell was a priest in the Dominican Order in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Purcell was accused of child sexual abuse that occurred from 1950 to 1951 at Monastery of the Angels in Los Angeles, CA. A civil lawsuit was filed against Fr. Purcell in 2003. Reports show that the victim was a 15-year-old-boy at the time of the abuse. It also states that Purcell left the order in the 1950s. He died in 1964 while living in El Paso, Texas. Fr. Purcell is listed on the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ List of Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor.
