Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Patrick Reilly:

In 2003, Msgr. Patrick Reilly’s name appeared in a filed civil lawsuit with accusations that he sexually assaulted an innocent victim between 1980 and 1984 while serving at Sacred Heart in Covina. The details of the sexual abuse allegations, including the victim’s age/gender, are unknown. In 2004, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles ruled that the accusations were unfounded. Church officials allowed Msgr. Reilly to continue functioning in ministry as a priest but made him retire. Msgr. Reilly was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors. Msgr. Reilly died in 2018 at the age of 83.
