Fr. Edward Augustine Sheehy was a Paulist priest that worked in Boston, San Francisco, Maine, Johannesburg, S.A., Los Angeles, New York, and Baltimore.  In 2003, the Paulist Fathers received allegations that Fr. Sheehy had sexually abused multiple children from 1955 to 1957 in San Francisco, California. Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Robert Paul Michele:

Fr. Robert Paul Michele was a priest of the Paulist Fathers. Fr. Michele worked in the Archdioceses of New York, San Francisco, Boston, Toronto, Baltimore, Vancouver, and Mobile, as well as the Diocese of Austin and the Diocese of Brooklyn.

In 2018, the Paulist Fathers released a statement saying that a report was made in 2002 alleging that Fr. Michele sexually abused a minor female from 1964 to 1968 when he was assigned to St. Philip Neri parish in Portland, but they found the allegation inconclusive. The statement also said that they received another allegation claiming Fr. Michele sexually abused another minor female from 1972 to 1973 and that this allegation was deemed credible and substantiated. In 2018, the first victim filed a federal lawsuit claiming that the alleged abuse began in 1964 in Portland and continued until 1969.

Fr. Michele was named on the List of Paulist Fathers with Credible Claims of Sexual Abuse of a Minor. Fr. Michele is also named on the Archdiocese of Mobile’s 2018 list of Names of Credibly Accused Clergy of Sexually Abusing a Minor and on the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s 2018 List of Accused Priests and Religious Brothers Accused of Child Sexual Abuse. Fr. Michele was living in a nursing facility in Mt. Angel, Oregon, until his death in September of 2020.

Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Thomas Reon Paul Marshall:

According to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, at least three survivors have come forward alleging child sexual abuse by Fr. Thomas Reon PaulMarshall, a member of the Paulist Fathers Order, between 1960 and 1963, at St. Paul the Apostle in Los Angeles.

In 2003, child sexual abuse charges were filed against Fr. Marshall, and an arrest warrant was issued. He was charged with 20 counts of lewd acts upon a child under 14. The district attorney attempted to extradite Fr. Marshall, who was retired and living in Toronto.

Per the 2009 Paulist website, Fr. Marshall was in residence at the Paulist Centre for Catholic Evangelization in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Fr. Marshall was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors. He was also listed on the Buffalo Diocese’s list in 2018. Fr. Marshall died in 2012.

Fr. Thomas Joseph Dove was ordained a priest of the Paulist Fathers. In 2014, Fr. Thomas Dove was accused of sexually abusing a young girl from 1972 to 1974, while serving at the Catholic Information Center in Los Angeles, CA.

Fr. Dove reportedly withdrew from public ministry and was forbidden to function publicly as a priest. Fr. Dove was named on the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ 2008 list of Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor. Fr. Dove was also named on the Paulist Fathers’ 2019 “List of Paulist Fathers with Credible Claims of Sexual Abuse of a Minor” and on the Memphis Diocese’s report in 2020. As of 2019, Fr. Dove is believed to be residing at the Paulist House in San Francisco, California.
