Monsignor Peter Martin Denges was named publicly by the Raleigh Diocese on its list of credibly accused priests in October of 2018.
According to the Diocese of Raleigh, the allegations against Denges were received in 2005, and related to abuse occurring in the 1950s. No further information has been given about the number of victims or the nature of the abuse. Denges was pastor of St. John the Baptist in Roanoke Rapids at the time.
Denges was also made Dean of the Eastern Deanery in 1951. From 1929-1949 he also ran Camp Denges in Abell, MD with his brother, Monsignor Joseph Denges.
Peter Denges died on July 27th, 1985.
