Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Peter M. McCutcheon:

According to media reports, in June 1986, an allegation that Father Peter M. McCutcheon sexually abused two teenagers between 1981 and 1985 was reported to the Archdiocese of Washington. He was was removed from ministry, arrested and charged with two counts of sexual child abuse. 

Father McCutcheon pleaded guilty to five counts of sexual child abuse and was sentenced to 25 years in prison. He served only about 1 year before being sent to treatment in New Mexico and put on probation.

In September 1987, a civil suit was filed against The Archdiocese of Washington and Father McCutcheon, alleging that the priest had sexual and alcohol problems dating back to his seminary days. In 1988, the case was settled with paid a six-figure settlement.

In 2004, Father McCutcheon was laicized.

In October 2018, Father McCutcheon’s name first appeared publicly on the Archdiocese of Washington’s list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors.

McCutcheon is still alive and believed to be residing in the Spring Hill, Florida, area.  He is approximately 65 years old.
