Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Terrence Farrell:

Father Terrence Farrell was ordained a priest in 1992, who served in multiple parishes in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, in October 1994, Father Terrence Farrell admitted to police he sexually assaulted an 18-year old boy in the church rectory of St. John Vianney Church in Hacienda Heights. He reportedly told police he knew his actions were inappropriate but that “I just wanted to hold him and love him.”

According to the police report, the teen said Father Farrell started showering him with attention after finding out the boy lived in a foster home. The priest told the teen he wanted to be his “father” because the boy didn’t have a father to take care of him.

It was months earlier in August, when the teen drove Father Farrell to the rectory because the priest was too drunk to drive home. Once inside the priest asked him to sit on the bed so he could “counsel” him. He then ran his hand up the teen’s leg, tried to touch his penis and grabbed his buttocks, the teen said.

When he asked the priest to stop, Father Farrell responded, “You’re making me look bad and you’re being a bad boy,” according to the police report.

“He’s not a liar; I did it all,” the priest told police.

In January 2013, Father Farrell’s name was quietly added, along with 24 others, to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ Final Addendum of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. His current whereabouts are unknown.
